All Modems are rated with the absolute maximum speed it delivers, with this modem it is 686 Mbps. Comcast cable officially approves this modem for their internet plans up to 300 Mbps.I could not be more happy with the modem, it's great! My plan with Comcast Exfinity is 300 Mbps.Advantages: It is vertical instead of horizontal. That is the only inexpensive way to allow a device to keep cool, stand it up so it radiates heat. All modems run hot. Do not cover them up. I bought this modem because someone covered our old modem with a bath towel to hide the modem and wires and make the installation look neater. It burned up, LOL. This was purchased to replace it.There is a fast, simple, easy way to keep any vertical modem from falling over: Velcro ! DUH! Foolproof way to mount things. What could be easier? If I tug on the cable, this modem will not fall over. The numbers you need to provide to your cable company to register any modem to any provider is on the bottom, which you will probably cover up with velcro, so write them all down. Happily they are actually printed large enough to read. That's unusual, LOL.MODEL NUMBER MB7420 (need to tell your cable company to register)Serial Number S/N (need to tell your cable company to register)MAC address (need to tell your cable company to register)IP ADDRESS (probably never need to know this, but maybe) 192 168 100.1USER NAME admin PASSWORD MOTOROLA (probably never need to know this, but maybe)Registering with some cable companies can be done online, others require you to give them a phone call. You only have to do that once in the life of the modem, unless you switch cable company providers. All companies require registration. That is how they know this particular modem is being used by a paying subscriber and not someone stealing cable signals illegally. The 5 indicator lights are not just round, they are icons which tell which each light means. Which is handy when trouble shooting. Easier to know what the problem is.The modem does it's job nicely and does not have any issues.
