I got a new house, new connection and needed a new modem. This one worked perfectly when I plugged it in. It was about as easy as It could be. I have not had to contact tech support at all. Great throughput.

It works well without any downtime so far, and was easy to setup with Mediacom. Also works well with Mediacom's new higher speeds.

My old modem could max out at around 940G on Xfinity Gigabit. This new modem gives me 1.4G, nearly 500G more speed. It sure makes updating large games fast!

Different service providers (ISP) have specific protocols that can only work with certain modems. Therefore, it's a good idea to call your ISP and make sure this modem is compatible with the services they offer and, that they allow you to substitute/replace their company's modem. You can't avoid this first step because they will need to know the MAC address of this new modem (written on the modem) before it can activated and work. In addition, depending on the Internet speed you are paying for will determine if this specific model is an overkill. Also, you will still have to use their router or purchase one yourself because this specific model DOES NOT HAVE A BUILT-IN ROUTER. YOU NEED A MODEM AND A ROUTER OR A COMBINATION MODEM/ROUTER. I recently moved and was forced to use Spectrum services. I was paying for the 400 MB speed, yet the download speeds were awful and fluctuated wildly causing buffering problems trying to watch TV. I bought this unit and an Asus RT-AX88U router because I plan to buy a faster service plan in the future. To my pleasant surprise, these units stabilized my wireless network signal throughout my home, doubled my download and upload speeds to the actual speed I was paying for and no buffering on 4k SmartTVs. This modem allows you to use the newest protocols and security features that will be available for many years as we continue to add more wireless products in our houses. It's worth the price.

It was very easy to get setup and I stall. Just had to call Mediacom to get it provisioned and I was up and running w/in 20 - 30 mins.
